CAT AND KITTEN CARRIERS
We love recommending the SleepyPod cat, kitten and dog carriers for your furbabies. We have used these carriers in our Cattery for well over 6 years. They are the best on the market for the crash testing. For flights we recommend either the Atom or the Air. My preference is the Air since you can fit a small cardboard litter box in the backend. All are perfect for regular travel to the vet. My recommendation for travel to the Vet is the 360. I call it that because the cat has a 360 view. Ultra luxurious with fur inserts on the insides. We are so happy with our Sleepypods, we made a YouTube video on our Cattery's YouTube channel on it many years back. CAT AND KITTEN STROLLERS
We love our cat and kitten strollers. We have a large size that can fit up to 5 cats comfortably, as well as a smaller size that can fit 2 cats comfortably. Our strollers get used quite a bit for walks around town and when camping. We love our stollers so much, we made a video about them several years back.

PROBIOTICS/PREBIOTICS
If you have a kitten or cat seems to be getting the kitty cold a lot, it may be time to build up your kitten or cat's immune system with probiotics. Elderly cats could also have weaker immune systems and could benefit from having probiotics. This probiotic also has prebiotics in it, which helps the kitten or cat to absorb more of the nutrients in their food. That is an added plus in building up their immune system. There is only one probiotic I recommend for cats, kittens and even dogs. It is Proviable DC capsules. I have had excellent results with this probiotic. It can be given whole or the capsule opened and sprinkled on a teaspoon of wet food or sprinkled on a tiny bit of dry food. Normally, my cats and kittens have loved the taste of it. You can give it daily to keep your cat and kitten's immune system strong. It also does wonders for the occasional loose stool also.

LOOSE STOOLS/DIARRHEA TOOL KIT
Loose stools and diarrhea can be dangerous to your cat or kitten due to dehydration. It is critical to make sure you cat is not dehydrated. You can pull up on the skin on their back. If it snaps back immediately, they are not dehydrated. If it slowly snaps back, they are dehydrated. If they are dehydrated, get them to the Vet as soon as possible. You can feed Pedialyte nonflavored either in a bowl or syringe while waiting on the Vet. It is always good to keep Pedialyte on hand for pet illnesses. Make sure to keep in the refrigerator.
In our experience loose tools that come out of the blue usually are most commonly from a stressful situation such as changes in the home, food changes, vaccines, surgery etc. Some times they are caused by parasites or protozoans. Your Vet can help diagnose if they are from parasites or protozoans. Some times those protozoans love to hid in the gut and you can get a false negative test. I would recommend send out lab tests if you get a negative stool test. The two items listed below can help with the stressful situations and are usually my first tool I use to see if the stools will harden up. Proviable DC, in my opinion, is the very best probiotic on the market. It provides good bacteria in the gut to help fight off the bad bacteria. Usually just 1 to 2 capsules a day for a couple of days, will clear up the stools. If you can get the capsule down the back of the mouth, that is the best way to give. Otherwise, you can open the capsule and give with a teaspoon of wet food. Once the stools have hardened, continue for a week or two after that. You can also use one capsule a day as a preventative to help the gut stay in optimum shape. Please keep the capsules in the refrigerator.
Psyllium husk is a sort of band aid. It temporarily will help harden up the stools. Just sprinkle about 1 teaspoon on top of dry food once or twice a day.

KEEPING THE BLADDER HEALTHY
When cats have food with high oxalates in them, they can get crystals forming in their bladder. For male cats, this is serious since the crystals could block them up, which can be life threatening. If your cat has a UTI or blockage or is straining in the litter box or is frequenting the litter box often, please bring your cat immediately to the Vet. The Vet can run a urine sample to find the state of the bladder and urine. UTIs are very painful, while a blockage is life threatening. When cats get stressed, they can get UTIs or bladder infections. In some cases, a UTI that is not dealt with timely, can lead to crystals forming and blockages. I have used the following products to help with bladder health, along with Dr. Elsey's Clean Protein cat food, which is low in oxalates. D-Mannose Powder is an amino acid used as a maintenance and is a natural method of removing the bad bacteria from the bladder. It attached to the the bacteria on the walls of the bladder and pulls the bacteria off the walls and out the urinary tract. Brands matter. I only recommend one brand. K-Plus Granules helps maintain a healthy PH in the urine and thus help prevent crystals and stones from forming. If you are having behavioral problems with cats or kittens in your home, the calming plug in can provide assistance in providing a special calming Pheromone scent to the air that only your cats can smell. I have used them with success in my Cattery throughout the years and while traveling with my cats and kittens to Vets or airports or delivering kittens to their new parents.

FOOD BOWLS
Again we only recommend Stainless Steel for delivering water and food. They are easy to disinfect thoroughly and can be cleaned in the dishwasher. Ceramic is ok also. Avoid plastic as it cannot be as thoroughly cleaned and can lead to chin acne. For sloppy eaters we recommend the Neater system.

DEWORMING
It would be a good idea to deworm your kitten/cat once a year with a good all around dewormer like Pyrantel. Your Vet can also do it for you during their annual exam.

At the Cattery, we use and recommend Revolution. In fall of 2022, we started to see a resistance to fleas using Revolution. Our Vet's Office also confirmed the now growing resistance of fleas to Revolution. Frontline and Advantage stopped working at our Cattery many, many, years ago. We use Revolution very sparingly and only when needed, not monthly. We have used Capstar on a rare occasion. Revolution is by prescription only at your Vet. Please do your own research on the harm of Hertz Products.

GROOMING COMBS
For Persian grooming, it is a daily thing in order of business to keep mats at bay. Cats and kittens will mat a lot more during shedding season (March through June). If you feel a mat, start at the end farthest away from the skin and work down to the mat, combing it out. You may need to try to tear the mat apart with your fingers. Use your two fingers to hold the hair next to the roots so you do not pull the hair or pull it out. We love one brand of grooming products: Chris Christensen!! BLOW DRYING SUPPLIES
A bath once a week during shedding season is recommended as well as throughout the year. Baths cut down on mats as long as you thoroughly dry your baby after the bath. Bathing will help keep the mats at bay. You will need to thoroughly blow dry your pet to the roots on a cool setting dryer or you will make the matting worse. If you do not thoroughly dry your cat/kitten, you will have uncontrollable mats. The Groomer’s Third Arm holds the nozzle of the dryer so both hands free are free to hold the kitten or cat and use the groom comb while blow drying. The dryer is very powerful so please hold the nozzle tightly in your hand at all times but especially when turning on.

SHAMPOOS AND CONDITIONERS
We found the greatest conditioner for all coat types. It is heaven sent for those tough cotton coats. It is Chris Christensen’s AfterUBathe. I absolute LOVE this condition and would not dare bath a cotton coat without it. You need to let it set on the coat for 2 to 3 minutes. Then rinse. This condition also helps get the soap residue out of the coat. For regular bathes, we first use Original Blue Dawn to get grease out of the coat. If you have a real greasy coat, you can use Groomer's Goop. Then we follow up with Chris Christensen shampoo as an example, Black on Black for our Black cats and White on White for our White cats. We love their shampoo and conditioner products. These products restore the coat's color.

SHAVING SUPPLIES
Do to the long hair on a Persian and Himalayan, we usually do a lion's cut on our cats once or twice a year starting in the spring time. Their fur is usually grown out by the time fall comes around. My cats love being shaved for summer. It puts a fresh step in their step and really helps with the shedding on the furniture and floors. EYE AND EAR CLEANING
I have a video on YouTube about what we use on our kittens/cat’s eyes and ears. It is Thayer’s Alcohol Free Witch Hazel with Aloe, Unscented. Please get the unscented version for safety reasons. It is great at tackling staining around the eyes and oiliness and dirt in the ears. We use cotton rounds to apply this formula.

I would recommend a nice climbing station for your kitten/cat. Most cats and kittens will use the climbing station to sleep on, scratch on and play on. They are indispensable.
