On March 21, 2015, Diamond and I went to the Raleigh Coastal Paws Cat Club CFA show. Diamond was at first a little hesitant with the first judge. By the end of the show, she was very mellow. She got her six winner's ribbons at the show and is now titled by CFA, a Champion. She did not get the pleasure of going to any finals unfortunately but neither did her competition in the Bi-Color Class. She was one exhausted girl by the end of the day. Lila and Dave, parents of the Flame Brothers (Jonah and Toshi), came with their friends, Liz and her son Samuel to the show. Samuel was able to hold Diamond. He is a great lover of all animals. We had a nice time together. Then Carolyn Doyle, Noah's mother, came and spent the afternoon with Diamond and I. She too took her turn loving on Diamond. I so appreciated the company of my families at the show. It just made it such a more enjoyable day. Thank you for coming and supporting Diamond. Above is a few pictures of the day. Listed above are the published videos of Diamond in the judging rings. Diamond was up against a blue and white bi-color cat whose father was CFA's Best Kitten in 2009-2010 and National Winner. The Best Kitten back in 2009-2010 was GC, NW KUORII GORILLA OF CUZZOE. As it so happens, a kitten from Cuzzoe was up against our Lord Camelot the First when he was shown in his first kitten show back on November 28,2009. So you can say Diamond's competition was tough. Diamond was one exhausted girl by the end of the day. Diamond can now relax and enjoy only the occasional bath as she has earned it.
Congratulations to our newest Champion

We had a great day with Kathy Walker (Camellia and Hyacinth's mother), the Spain Family (on our Priority Wait List) and Neil, Diane and Kyle Debeixedon-King (Cartier's family). We almost blocked one isle with all our chairs in front of our Show Cage. We all had a great time. Cartier, in my opinion, did better in the judging ring then Petunia. Diane had groomed him to perfection. Several of the judges noted his fur. We took videos of most of his judging rings and some of Petunia's judging rings. Cartier was a big hit with his pod that Dianne had brought for him to sleep and escape in. He would pop his head out and check out the scene and then pop back in. It was funny. By the end of the show, he was very comfortable in the judging ring and in his Show Cage. He was a hit when he would hang out of his pod and play with the wand. Petunia was in heat during the show. I don't think this went over too well with the judges as she would go stiff and arch her back wanting to be mated as they would put their hands down her back. She was up against a Tehy cat that was already a Champion. That cat had one fur coat. I think we did capture the Tehy cat in some of the pictures. Petunia should get her 6 winners ribbons for the day and be a Champion now. I will have to send in the paperwork for it. We had some great comments from the public viewers at the show. One lady said she was stocking me down and wanted to tell me that Petunia was the most beautiful cat she had every seen. Another lady paid for a ticket to vote for Petunia being the best in show. There were other sweet comments also. So even though Petunia and Cartier did not go to any judge's finals, these sweet comments made it all worth it for me as well as the time spent with my families.
I must say, I was impressed by the kindness and gentleness of several of the judges to these kittens. I was very impressed with how Gary Powell handled Cartier and Petunia, giving them the due they deserved. I could see that Tracy Petty loved her job as Judge and loved cats and kittens. What a sweet expression and smile this judge had when looking at Petunia and Cartier. Even though it was kind of obvious to me that Persians may not be Pat Jacobberger's favorite breed, I was impressed that she talked about the history of the Persian breed and the Persian breed coat as she judged Cartier. He does have one beautiful coat Dianne. Thank you so much for letting it shine.
I want to thank Kathy Walker for driving long distance to help and at times babysitting the babies and ALWAYS being such a consistent support. You are so sweet and so generous with your time, support and love for kittens and cats. Thank you to the deBeixedon Family for believing in and loving your little boy so much you were willing to go through all the extra grooming and attention to show him off. He really showed his specialness to everyone who meet him in his pod. Thank you to the Spain family for babysitting and holding Petunia while I ran around all the rings trying to see who was up next. Thank you also for spending the time getting to know the Victorian Gardens Cattery family. I so appreciate you all!!
