Sweet Joshua - Cream Point Himalayan
Sweet Joshua is a cutie and a real charmer. He is a darker Cream Point Himalayan, almost on the verge of a Flame Point. He has light blue eyes. He loves to play, but is also a great and loving lapcat. He loves flopping down on the sofa beside you or going on your lap for some loving. He has a great personality. When you pick him up he starts to purring. His coat is very fluffy and pure white except for his points. He is what you call a true "fur ball". His fur is very long like Buttercups. He is an active and smart kitten. You can see his baby pictures in the Photo Galley as well as clicking on his picture to see additional pictures. You can see him at play on the YouTube videos.
On December 24, 2011, our very sweet and loving Joshua went to his new home with the Carters in Wake Forest, North Carolina on Christmas Eve. Joshua was a long awaited Christmas present for Kathy from her husband. Joshua will be the apple of their eye since he will be the only furball in this home. It is bittersweet, once again, because I am grieving the loss of this loving and precious lapcat, but I am so happy he has found this very loving home. Joshua is a true sweet heart. It may take him a little while to warm up to strangers but once he does, he will melt anyones heart. From what we have heard so far, he has already melted the hearts of the Carters. When we spoke to Kathy on Christmas night, she told us that this was the best Christmas she had ever had. We wish Joshua the very best love in his forever loving family.

December 29, 2011 - An update from the Carters, via Facebook:
"Danny and I are so happy with Josh. We love him so much. We changed the sheets on our bed today. When we went to put the new sheets on, Josh jumped on the bed and just started to roll around. It took us an hour to get the sheets on. When danny and I leave a room, Josh is right behind us. He is always by our side."

January 7, 2011 - Update from the Carter's, via Facebook:
"Hi Susan. Josh is the best son we could have ever wanted. He is loved so much. Everyday he is doing something. We had the TV on and were rubbing his tummy and the next thing we know, he is up and watching TV. When I want to get to my computer, Josh and I have to race to see who gets to the chair first. He has both of us wrapped around his paws. For a special treat, he gets a little ham. Well, we ran out last Thursday so on my way home from work, I stopped and picked up a little. When I walked in, Danny looked at the bag and said, 'You picked up some ham for Josh'. I said 'yes' and he smiled and said that he went out early in the morning and got some. Spoiled or what?" ...

"Yes, I tell him every night when I go to bed (Danny is still watching TV), I call 'Josh' and tell him 'come on Josh, it is night night' and he comes running and jumps in bed but never sleeps there all night. I find him sleeping in the funnest places. I just went into the bathroom and he was asleep in the sink or I will find him in the tub asleep. He was cuddled in my arms like a baby for an hour tonight purring like crazy. Then he woke up and left when I went to the bathroom. He was asleep in the sink and he just gave me a look cause I kissed him and woke him up. And yes, we love him sooooooooo much and he knows how spoiled he is."

Sweet Zachariah - Cream Point Himalayan
Zachariah is precious and very sweet. He is the largest boy of Petunia's 2011 litter. He has gorgeous large round blue eyes. They change in vibrance during the day, just like his mothers. He loves to play but he also loves to fall asleep near you. He is a well adjusted big boy and mature for his age. He has the most perfect personality. He is such a pleasure to be around. We love to cuddle him. When we rub his tummy, he just starts purring away. He loves sleeping on his back, flat out. Please click on the picture to see additional pictures of Zachariah. Don't forget to watch the YouTube Videos to see this pretty boy in action.
On August 2, 2011, Zachariah left with his brother Jediadiah to live in his forever home in Franklin, North Carolina. His new parents drove 7 1/2 hours to get him. That tells you alot about this very special and loving family. It was a very bittersweet day for us at the Cattery. We teared up when we had to say goodbye to Zack. Sweet because Zack has wonderful new parents, but bitter because we are grieving the loss of a very special boy. Every so often as a breeder, you get that one special kitten who steals your heart away. Zack was that special kitten to us. He stole our heart. He is beautiful, truly, from the inside as well as the outside. He is a true lapcat. He loves to give us kisses. He loves to fall asleep on your lap. He goes up to anybody. He loved to clean and play with our small dog, Daisy. He even cleaned his brothers and sisters. Zack is a once in a lifetime cat and he has found his once in a lifetime home. We couldn't be happier for him. We can't wait to hear an update about how he is adjusting to his new parents and new home in the beautiful high mountains of North Carolina.

August 6, 2011 - An update from the Jacobsons:
"We were like celebrities yesterday when we got to the vet's office. All the vet techs wanted to see and hold the "babies" and Dr. Stagnitta said they are healthy beautiful boys. ... Andy gave Dr. Stagnitta a big kiss and it was love at first sight! He has been sitting in my lap for 45 minutes or so while I read the newspapers online. Now he is off tussling with his brother somewhere in the great room."
August 19, 2011 - An update from the Jacobsons:
"I wanted to give you a report on our boys. They are growing like weeds. We took them to the vet today for their shots and Andy had gained a pound and Jed had gained 7 tenths of a pound. The whole vet staff is in love with those two. ... We just adore them both and have had so much fun with them. It is wonderful having two little brothers who obviously totally relate to each other. Merlin has adjusted and actually gave Andy a bath this afternoon. Jed forgets himself sometimes and jumps on Merlin's great big tail but Merlin lets him know if he doesn't want him to continue. Andy is still trying to get Tashi to be his friend. I bought Tashi a new toy today too and he actually took it over like he was showing it to Jed and Andy -- SO -- they are all adjusting. Our son loved them both and had such fun with all 4 of our furboys. ~"

Andy,(Cream Pt Himalayan) & Jed (Cream Persian)
Yesterday, the Jacobsons sent this very cute picture of Andy (Cream Point Himalayan) and Jed (Cream Persian) to us. They just had their 10 month birthday on the March 1st. Jed has his arm around Andy's body. Jed had actually been laying his head on Andy sleeping right before the picture. Just look at those deep copper eyes of Jeds. They peer right through you. Andy's eyes have turned out to be a beautiful medium blue like his mother, Petunia. Thank you for this wonderful picture of the boys.
April 24, 2012 - An update from the Jacobsons
Andy Jacobson - Cream Point Himalayan
Boy, Andy is sure looking like Joshua and his mother, Petunia. What pretty blue eyes. The Jacobson's write: "Andy has started sleeping stretched out full length by me with his chin and one paw over my knee. Often Merlin is sleeping on the other side which makes for interesting sleep sometimes. ... Andy is still laid back, lap cat but he gets wound up from time to time too. Those two really love each other and are both such beauties."
May 30, 2012 - An update from the Jacobsons:
The Jacobson's write: "Just wanted to report on our boys. Andy is a big, big, boy but still just as sweet and loving as when I first held him. He always has the sweetest expression on his face and those blue eyes look at you with such love and innocence.

July 3, 2012 - A Jed and Andy Must Read
"Wish you had been here to see our two boys this morning. We have a 5 mile Greenway that runs down by the river and Jake and I go down there early in the morning to walk. When we got home and were coming up the mountain I realized there was about a 100 pound black bear on the deck - probably one of last years cubs. We have them on the deck getting into our bird feeders from time to time since we are surrounded by National Forest land. He was a beauty and ambled down off the deck after he saw us. After I watched him disappear into the woods, I realized there were no cats in sight. Just then Andy stuck his head very cautiously around the hall door and his blue eyes were huge and then creeping up behind him with equally huge copper eyes was Jed. Apparently Mr. Bear was a little too much for them since they are still looking all around, looking over their shoulders. I didn't have time to grab my phone or my camera but it was quite a sight." Thank you for sharing this funny story with us Faye.

August 4, 2012 - Update from the Jacobsons
I loved watching your new video of the babies last night. They are adorable. I am so in hopes that they all 3 get wonderful homes. When Pansy was holding that kitten and grooming her I thought of Andy's latest thing. He has always wanted to be Tashi's buddy and finally Tashi is allowing contact most of the time -- even trying to figure out how in the heck you play with a cat. Andy will snuggle up to Tashi and put his arm around him (just like Pansy was doing with the kitten) and give him a good bath. Tashi just lays there and enjoys. Did you ever have those two pegged exactly right as to personality. Jake keeps saying he thinks Andy is the sweetest, most loving cat he has ever been around and I think he is right. But when Andy does get wound up it is fun to watch. He and Jed have a time.

One Very Special Heart
February 14, 2013
Andy (Zachariah) on the couch snuggling with Tashi (Shih Tzu)
Our very sweet and precious lapcat Andy (AKA Zachariah, Cream Point Himalayan) has one very special heart. Wish all humans in the world had this much compassion and empathy for one another. From Andy's mom: "Tashi, our little Shih Tzu rescue dog, is almost totally deaf now but his heart condition has not worsened and his renal problems have stabilized. Both he and Merlin continue to play and be themselves much of the time. Andy just loves Tashi and is always snuggling up to him while they both sleep. I will get a picture and send it to you. The other night Andy had his arm around Tashi and they were both sound asleep." I truly believe in my heart that Andy has a keen sense that not all is right with Tashi. Andy goes out of his way to show love, compassion and empathy to this precious furbaby.
Update on Andy and Jed
May 19, 2013
Two Peas in Petunia's Pod: Andy, Cream Pt Himalayan & Jed, Cream Persian.
We have been delayed in getting Andy and Jed's update on our blog since it came in right between our litter births and the picture came in prior to that. You can tell by the picture that Jed was just waking up. Faye is always great about keeping us updated and we really do enjoy hearing their stories ... especially Jed's newest antics. If you have not had a chance to read some of Jed's stories, just head over to the Adopted Kittens 2011 page. He is one very determined and smart boy. Probably the smartest we have ever had, though I must say, Toshi is going to give him a run for the money. Andy is just about as sweet as a cat can be. We missed our lapcat when he left for his new home. Hope you enjoy Faye's stories. Here is the latest update: "Andy and Jed are their usual delightful selves. Andy is totally laid back except in the morning when we are having our coffee. He tears around the room, down the hall, climbs to the top of our tall cat condo, throws catnip toys in the air and jumps up for them. Then, after about 20 minutes he stretches out by Tashi and takes a nap. Jed spreads his active time out throughout the day! " Thanks Faye for the update.

Sweet Jediadiah - Cream Persian
Sweet Jediadiah is very smart and very playful. We need to underscore "Very Smart". He currently has a light red coat. We call him the fur ball. He has beautiful deep copper eyes. His deep copper eye color is sought after. He came out second in line during birth. He is the second largest of the kittens. We have never seen this happen before but during his birth, before we could even get to him, he was fightening with his hands inside the sack to get the sack off his face. He was one determined little boy right from the start. As soon as this little guy was cleaned up and put in the incubator, he was searching high and low for his mother to nurse on. Yes, this described his personality to a tee. He is a go getter and is not going to let anything get in his way. He sometimes is so busy playing that he runs over the smaller babies to get the "Bug" or the feather. He is full of energy and life. He reminds me so much of Jeremiah from Petunia's 2010 litter. Please click on his picture to see additional pictures of Jediadiah.
On August 2, 2011, Jediadiah went, with his brother, Zachariah, to live with their wonderful and loving new parents in the high mountains of North Carolina. Jediadiah will always be remembered at the Cattery for his determination and high energy level. There was never a dull moment with this beautiful. He would keep you in stitches. And oh, what beautiful copper eyes. His new parents traveled 7 1/2 hours to pick him and his brother up. Both he and his brother will be filling a void in their new parents life and heart from the lost of their 14 year old Himalayan on May 1st, 2011, the exact day Jediadiah and Zachariah was born. It truly was a match made in heaven and in the heart. Jediadiah's new home will include his brother, Zachariah, Merlin, a 14 1/2 year old Flame Point Himalayan and Tashi, a 6 year old Shih Tzu. We will anxiously await an update from the Jacobsons on how Jediadiah is settling into his new home life. Better batten down the hatches, Jediadiah's coming.

August 3, 2011 - An update from the Jacobsons:
"I wish you could have seen Jed this morning when he saw a squirrel on our deck. The whole front of our house (from master bedroom to great room is glass) so it was a new world to see. Jed saw that squirrel and started wiggling his little rear like he was going to pounce and growling down low in his throat. We have decided that he THINKS he is much more fierce that he actually is! When he growled at Merlin last night I thought -- little boy do you know that Merlin weighs 11 pounds and you DON'T. He is fearless."
August 8, 2011 - An update from the Jacobsons:
"We have had SO much fun with them. They are just a hoot! If their energy could be bottled someone would become a millionaire! Merlin is not staying in the linen closet all the time now -- he comes out for his lap time with Jake and spends every evening out in the great room with "the family". He and the two boys sniff noses and I even saw Merlin washing Jed's face last night. Progress is being made. Tashi is still trying to figure out how to play with Andy and Jed and they are making progress as well. Last night they took a brief nap around dinner time and then tore around running and tussling until bedtime."
October 13, 2011 - An "Must Read" from the Jacobsons:
Andy & Jed - Cream Pt Himalayan & Cream Persian
"Just wanted to tell you the latest from our two boys. They are constantly on the move and just a hoot to watch (until they get tired and then they are lap boys -- Andy more than Jed). After we got back from vacation I saw Jed trying to figure out how to get the vents out of the floor. We have hardwoods throughout the house and all the AC vents are in the floor. We were having breakfast one morning and I hear a loud, metallic clunk -- I knew immediately what it was because Merlin had tried the same trick when we first moved here. I ran down the hall just in time to keep him from disappearing down the vent and causing us to have to disable our heating and air system to get him out!! Now, all the vents are screwed to the hardwoods. One of their favorite places to sleep is in the sink in the guest bathroom -- they take turns plus there is a jacuzzi tub in there and they love playing hide and seek behind the shower curtains. Last night at bedtime they had us laughing until we cried. Jake started off down the hall and they had unrolled a whole roll of toilet paper -- it was all the way from the guest bathroom down a long hall and across our guest room until they got to the end of the roll. They were just having a ball and were so much fun to watch -- what a delight they are to us. They continue to grow like weeds and we will be scheduling their neutering around the first of November when they will be 6 months old."
February 4, 2012 - An update from the Jacobsons:
Merlin, 15 year old Flame Pt Himalayan and Jed, Cream Persian
"Hi Susan, I thought you might like to see this FIRST for our family. That's Merlin and Jed snuggled up last night sleeping. They slept that way for several hours and we were amazed. I think we may truly have a peaceable kingdom now -- so sweet to see! This isn't the greatest picture because I took it with my DROID."

Sweet and Innocent Jediadiah - Cream Persian
What a perfect and innocent face! Just look at the gorgeous deep and intense copper eyes. He is actually trying to figure out what he wants to do next. Per the Jacobsons: "Jed continues to be his "full of it" self. I think he will love having our porch screened -- we're going to put a climbing tree out there so he can get up close to the birds as they come and go outside the screen. He is a sweetheart but, just as you told us, he is SO full of energy. We laugh at him so much -- he's good medicine.
May 30, 2012 - An update from the Jacobsons:
The Jacobson's write: "Just wanted to report on our boys. ... And then, there is Jed. He is a live wire but entertains us daily. He is a loving guy too but just in very short amounts of time. He is much smaller than Andy with the most intense copper eyes ever. He doesn't look at you -- he looks through you!! He has really warmed up to Jake and also to our son while he was home. He would actually let Chris pick him up and hold him - even walk around the house with him. He gets in Jake's lap but doesn't stay long -- he is on to the next thing! He loves pens and pencils so we don't dare leave one on a table. He will roll them around a while and then walk around with them in his mouth like a stick. Jake said this morning, after he took away the third one from Jed, that he was sure that Jed was going to take up writing and become a journalist since he has such a fascination for all writing tools!"

Wish you had been here to see our two boys this morning. I didn't have time to grab my phone or my camera but it was quite a sight." October 9, 2012 - One for Our Record Books - A Hilarious Story from the Jacobsons
" I've got to tell you Jed's latest before I get busy unpacking and washing clothes. Jake has a side table by his chair that has a door in the bottom and a drawer in the top. He keeps all the treats in that drawer. It's a heavy oak piece so the drawer doesn't slide easily. I had seen Jed trying to pull on the drawer if it was even open a tiny crack. I told Jake he needed to make sure and close the drawer. One morning recently we got up and Jed had opened the drawer - chewed open the cat treats and helped himself -- since he didn't want the dog treats he just turned them into toys. After that Jake made sure he shut the drawer. Last week I was working in the kitchen and noticed Jed sitting directly in front of that cabinet -- just looking at it. I didn't pay much attention and next thing I knew Jed had opened the door on the cabinet, crawled inside, turned over on his back and was trying to push the treat drawer open from the bottom. Is he smart or what?? Think of the level of reasoning it takes to go through all those steps. What a Jed!"
I wrote her back with the following: "You had me laughing about Jed before I even finished reading the first sentence. I knew before I even finished the first sentence what you were going to tell me. I can just picture it. If someone ever comes along like a Trainer, please let them see Jed and see what he can do. He should be in some kind of amazing cat show. What a story! Someday, I hope you catch it all on video. ... It would be hysterical to watch."

THAT JED!
A 2012 Christmas story from the Jacobsons:
Sweet Jediadiah, Cream Persian
"Our Jed is up to his usual tricks so I thought I would share. For days bows have been disappearing from the tops of packages. I am a "cat mom" going back years so they were well taped! I could not even find them in the room so assumed one of the cats had pushed them under something while batting them around and a thorough vacuuming would locate them. Yesterday morning I was up really early and sitting by the Christmas tree lights having my coffee. I noticed Jed prowling around the Christmas tree and before I could blink an eye -- off came a bow. I told him no -- got the bow -- taped it back on -- SECURELY and sat down to finish my coffee. For the next hour we played this game -- Jed pulled off bows, while evading capture, and I stuck them back on -- saying, "no Jed each time". I went to the kitchen to get a WARM cup of coffee and when I got back Jed had stretched out across a couple of packages and was sound asleep -- all worn out from his bow stealing escapade! And, of course, looking like an absolute Angel! What a Jed!"
January 2013: The one of a kind Jed and his newest adventure as recounted by his mom: "Jake put weights in the snack drawer to keep Jed from opening it up during the night and helping himself. I told Jake I wouldn't bet against Jed if I were a betting person and sure enough -- I got up the other morning and Jed had somehow opened the drawer enough to stick his paw in -- grab the plastic bag and then chewed a small hole in the bag so he and Andy could use it like a dispenser to get one or two treats at a time. We've had smart cats before but Jed is the smartest!" and one more note from Faye: "Jake keeps trying to make a lap cat out of Jed but no such luck. Jed has such a busy mind he is always thinking about the next thing he is going to get into. He is such a sweetie though and loves his morning hugs and petting but then is off to the next thing!"
Thanks Faye for sharing with us Jed's adventures and bringing a smile to our face and a laugh to our insides.

Sweet Jediadiah
and the
Westminster Dog Show
February 21, 2013
Sweet Jediadiah, Cream Persian
On Valentines Day last week, Faye, Sweet Jediadiah's mother, wrote us another amazing story about Jed. We always knew that Jed was a very smart cookie right from the day he was born, but he just keeps amazing us. The story came from Debbie, the Jacobson's house/pet sitter they use when they are out of town. Here is the story that Debbie recounted to Faye when she returned from her vacation: "Debbie had to take a minute before she left last night to tell us an "Amazing Jed" story. She said that she watched the Westminster Dog Show both nights. She said the first night Jed would sit right in front of the television and watch too -- that when the commercials would come on he would wander off but when the dogs came back on he would come back. She said when the herding group was doing their thing he actually got very close to the television, sat up on his hind legs like he was REALLY into those dogs. She said she was amazed at how long he watched and told a friend of hers that it was just a fluke and she was sure he would not do it the second night. To her surprise, the second night of the dog show was just as fascinating to Jed as the first. We have seen him watch television before but not for as long a period. We will just have to get him some DVD's to watch! "

Sweet Viola - Blue Cream Persian
Sweet Little Viola is very energetic like her brothers. She is a Blue Cream Persian with large beautiful copper eyes. She has cream areas mixed with the blue. A Blue Cream is a dilute tortoiseshell. She will get in with her brothers and play just as hard as they play and sometimes harder. You should see her in action with "The Bug". It is hilarious to watch her play. You can see her YouTube Video of her playing or maybe a better word is hogging the "Catch Me If You Can" toy. She is one very smart little girl. She has taken quickly to everything from potty training to eating dry kitten food. She is absolutely adorable. You can click on her picture to see additional pictures of Viola.
On July 30, 2011, Viola met her new family, The Scotts, who drove from Georgia to pick her up. Viola took to her family right away, which is always a great sign. The Scotts had waited for Viola since January, 2011. Viola was a surprise birthday gift for their 9 year old daughter. She had been waiting for Viola since her birthday and had been watching Viola grow by means of the YouTube Videos. We hope to hear real soon from the Scotts about how Viola is settling in to her new home and family, which includes a 10 year Flame Point Himalayan and a 4 1/2 year old large dog. She will be missed at the Cattery for her spirit and playfulness.

August 8, 2011 - An update from the Scotts:
"She is doing great. We bought her some new toys she loves, and she has been sleeping with McKayla. We were able to keep her in the bathroom the first night and she cried all night so we decided since she uses the cat box she can have run of the house. I took her upstairs to show her where the cat box is up there. Then after we put McKayla to bed she ran up there and we followed to see what she would do, and she ran into the cat box (but didn't use it) then ran into McKayla's room. I figured she was retracing the steps I took her on so she knew the way. Then last night we went up to tell McKayla good night and she was laying asleep on her pillows. ... She makes McKayla very happy!

Sweet Viola - Blue Cream Persian
"I wanted to send you a picture of the kitty. We renamed her Stormy (McKayla was planning that all along). She is doing great, happy and playful! Her orange coloring seems to be coming out more, appears to be taking over the white coloring."
January 2, 2012 - Update from the Scotts:
"She is doing wonderfully! She is a fluff ball now and wild as can be. She plays with my rugs in my house and flips them over all the time. We have searched for the 'Catch me if you can toy' that she loved so much at your house, but they don't carry it within 100 miles of here ... So I guess I'll let her play with my rugs!"

March 13, 2012 - Update from the Scotts:
"Funny enough Stormy (Viola) found a way to make her own toy. We have two of the round scratchers that have the ball that goes around in it and she takes her little cube hideout toys and pulled it on top of the scratcher. She runs around, jumps in it, bats through it ..... basically has the time of her life with it. Like you said, smart cats! She created that one on her own! I am attaching a picture or two."
