VICTORIANGDN'S Chocolate Hollyhock, a Chocolate Tortie Point Himalayan
Primrose's babies will remain on our Nursery page and then later are made available on the Available Kitten Page. Please enjoy watching the videos and looking at her newborns. Each day the babies change. It could be their color changing, or their size, or their eyes opening. It is always an exciting time at the Cattery when the babies arrive. We have ordered this page with the most recent videos and pictures at the top then going to Day 1 at the bottom. Enjoy her newborns as much as she does and we do. If you are interested in being on the wait list for one of our litters, please fill out the "Kitten Application" and return to us. More information on our policies are found on the Prices and Policies Page. Serious only inquiries please.

Chocolate Cat Fanciers
May 21, 2014
We got a huge surprise today when we went up on the Chocolate Cat Fanciers website: chocolatecats.com. There was our precious Chocolate Tortie Point Himalayan from Primrose and Willie's Litter of March 6, 2014 featured on the front page. I believe this is the first picture of a Chocolate Tortie Point Himalayan that they have had on their front page or even their galley. We are so proud and happy that they recognized our rare Chocolate Tortie girl. Some have asked why she has orange on her cheeks. Well, that is because she is a Chocolate Tortie Point. The CFA standard for a Chocolate Tortie Point is as follows: "body ivory. Points chocolate with
unbrindled patches of red and/or cream. Nose leather and paw
pads: cinnamon pink and/or coral pink. Eye color: deep vivid blue.
Disqualify: white toes, eye color other than blue". She is, in my opinion, extra rare because her patches of red/orange are on her cheeks. It is not discoloration from eye staining at all. Now how is that for the luck of the draw. Actually, God planted those orange cheeks on her. They are perfect. The only other places we are seeing the red/orange is on some spots on her paws. She comes from a rare all Tortoiseshell litter that included two other rare Chocolate Tortoiseshell Persians. You can see more of our Kitten #5 and her rare siblings, in Primrose's Nursery 2014. Our whole Victorian Gardens Cattery family, which includes all our Adoptive families and our Priority Wait List families are helping us to decide just the right chocolate flower name for her. We hope to have the decision by this weekend. We can't wait to show off our beauty at the CFA shows when she comes in to maturity at 8 months old. She will have a lot of changing in that period of time. Tomorrow she will be 11 weeks old. Her fur is very long and we believe she will have a coat like Little Miracles. At least that is what we are hoping for.

Primrose and Pansy's Litter
On May 18, 2014, Schann Westbrook came from Cary, North Carolina to visit her new little girl, Marigold, a Black Tortoiseshell Persian from Primrose and Willie's litter that was born on March 6, 2014. She had been on the Priority Wait List since February 2014 so she was able to see this litter be born and grow up through photos and YouTube videos. Little did we know when she arrived for her visit, that Schann was a Photographer. She graced our home and our kittens with her sweet and gentle way. It was a very relaxing 3 hours spent loving on all the babies and taking these marvelous photos of Primrose and Pansy's litters. She was able to capture the colors of Primrose's rare litter of all Tortoiseshells, including the unique coloring of the Chocolate Tortoiseshells and Chocolate Tortie Point Himalayan. We will be featuring our favorites of this photo shoot on Schann's own page of our website entitled, The Feline Photography of Purry Paw Prints. Thank you Schann for a great time with the gang at Victorian Gardens Cattery. You can see her fabulous photo shoot by clicking here. You can also click on the picture to go to the Photo Shoot.
That Wild and Crazy Chocolate Tortoiseshell Kitten
May 9, 2014
Primrose and Willie has an all Tortoiseshell Litter on March 9, 2014. They are now 9 weeks old and just had their first set of vaccines yesterday. We also opened up all of the Toddler Room for them to play in. I guess you could say they graduated. Tortoiseshell Persians are known for their unique personalities. We thought we would show a clip of how unique their personalities are. This 9 week old Tortoiseshell is just having an absolute ball in her play station. She is a wild thing when she gets going. She is Kitten #3 from Primrose's litter. Click the link to go directly to the YouTube video. Pansy's black baby is also in the video running around having fun. Pansy's baby can be seen in Pansy's Nursery 2014.

Oh Those Rambunctious Kittens
April 18, 2014
Watch the latest video of Primrose and Pansy's very rambunctious 6 and 4 week old Persian and Himalayan kittens in their new Toddler Room with their new toys and play stations. Primrose's kittens are now 6 weeks old as of yesterday. Pansy's one kitten is 4 weeks old. Primrose has a very rare litter of all Tortoiseshells. She has two rare Chocolate Tortoiseshell Persians and a rare Chocolate Tortie Himalayan. These babies are happy and very rambunctious. They love all their new toys and space. They are eating wet food, drinking from the water fountain and using the litter boxes. They are a delight to watch. You can see individual pictures of them in their Spring Has Sprung Photo Shot available on the mother's Nurseries pages. Just click on the link to be taken to the YouTube video.

Weaning Our Kittens Video
April 9, 2014
Watch us on our latest video as we start to wean our 4 week old all tortoiseshell Persian and Himalayan kittens unto our Homemade Crockpot Chicken Wet Kitten/Cat food. If our Seal Tortie Point Himalayan is any indication, it will be a hit. We cook our chicken thighs, which are boneless, skinless, organic, hormone and antibiotic free, in a crockpot for 7 hours. We leave the cooked chicken and broth in the refrigerator overnight for the broth to congeal. Then in the morning we add the Young Again Carnivore Raw Supplements with Calcium to it after we have weighted out the cooked chicken. We also add in Salmon Oil. Our complete recipe is available on our website. It is fun and easy to make your own homemade wet kitten/cat food. It is also better for your kitten and cat because you know they are not getting any grains, but chicken meat and supplements, including prebiotics and probiotics. Our kittens last year weaned directly on to this homemade cooked kitten food and loved it. We actually had a very hard time getting them to wean on to the Young Again dry food because they loved the wet food so much. Several of our adoptive families from last year make this recipe for their kittens. You can find the recipe and more information about Young Again kitten/cat food on our website. Just click on the link below to go directly to our YouTube Video.

Day 24
March 29, 2014
Time is going by so fast as Primrose babies grow and grow and grow. Before I know it, they will be leaving for their forever homes. We try to savor ever minute with them. They are so precious. Pansy and Primrose make the great team as they work together to nurse and attend to every need of this blended family of two litters. It is so precious to see the bond that they have for one another and the bond they have for each others babies. If you ask Pansy, she would say they were all her babies and Primrose would say the same thing. There is not competition or fighting, just honest and loving team work. It is a blessing. The babies are all doing great. They are all walking. Enjoy the candid photos taken today. You can click on the link below to go to today's YouTube Video of this litter.

Day 6 - Video - March 11, 2014
All Primrose's babies are gaining weight and Primrose is looking so much better after her C-Section. We got a big surprise yesterday when the largest Himi was no longer a Seal but a female Tortie Point Himalayan. It is really an unbelievable litter with, so far, 4 Tortoiseshells. The verdict is still out on the 5th. It is either a Chocolate Tortie Point Himalayan or a Chocolate Point Himalayan. This litter has gone beyond any of our preconceived expectations.
Just click on the link to watch the video of the babies on Day 6 of their lives.

Primrose And Willie's Babies Have Arrived
March 6, 2014
Wow, what a day it was. First, Primrose decided to go in to labor on the way to The Sound Cat, a three hour drive away from our home. I had never been happier to see a Vet Office before. Primrose's babies arrived today at The Sound Cat in Wilmington, North Carolina by C-Section. One look at the x-ray and Dr. Williams knew a C-Section was in order. She counted five large kittens. One kitten, who will be affectionately called "the bruiser" for now, had a head circumference of 33.15 mm, however, Primrose's birth canal girth was only 32.15 mm. A nice young volunteer named Collin was nice enough to take pictures for us of Primrose's C-Section. Do not worry, it is not real graphic. Four Vet staff lined up one right after the other to take a baby from Dr. Williams and start to try to wake it up. During a C-Section, the babies are affected by the anesthesia so it does take some work to get them woken up, breathing and moving. Those poor babies were squeezed and pinched so much try to wake them up. Who knew that newborn kittens would be so sensitive to having their tails and fingers pressed on, but it worked. Jeanne O'Donnell of Donegal Cattery was there to help also. We rubbed and rubbed on those babies. Now Primrose ... well she was up and walking around within an hour just like nothing had happened. What a trooper. Went want to thank the great staff and Dr. Williams for their great work today with Primrose and her babies. Thank you!
Now on to those babies ... five beautiful and "large" babies that make us proud. For a while now, I have prayed for an extreme faced Tortoiseshell Persian, and I think Willie and Primrose, in concert with God, answered my prayer. I also, for a long time, had been dreaming of that rare and exclusive Chocolate Tortoiseshell Persian. Well, I think those dreams may have also came true, not just once but twice today. What a blessing. It goes without saying that most Tortoiseshells are always girls. Now on to the boys ... it is looking like we have two Flame Point Himalayan boys. Now I am going to wait a day or two just to make sure those points don't turn a darker color and become Seals. I will wait a week or two to determine for sure if the kittens are doll faced or extreme faced.
What a blessing this litter has turned out to be. I just can't wait to see them all develop. They are all nursing and doing well. In fact, so well, that they are now fighting over the nipples at less than 9 hours old.
A pictorial slide show is available of Primrose's C-Section and her newborn babies. Do not fear, it is not too graphic.
