ADOPTED BY FOREVER FAMILY: Bonnie Jones in Wilmington, NC
One thing is for sure, Pansy and Willie always has the most precious and smart kittens. Indy and Sophie are no exception to that. They both are such sweeties. They loved to both play with their rambunctious sibling Penelope. It was hysterical watching the three of them playing together. Their personalities are similar but different at the same time. Both have that lap kitten personality that has been passed down from their grandfather, Camelot. They both have beautiful full coats. When Bonnie, their new mother, came to see them the first time, she fell in love with them. It was so great that they got to meet her prior to her picking them up. Indy immediately was held like a baby in her arms and loved it. We were so happy that both of the kittens were adopted together into their loving home.
On December 15, 2014, Bonnie came to pick up these two precious babies to bring them to their new home in Wilmington. Bonnie had spent the prior month preparing her home for their arrival, even getting them the exact same playstation and tunnel that we have at our Cattery. Everything was perfect for their arrival at their new home. In June 2014, Bonnie had lost the love of her life, Pumpkin, a Red Persian. It left her heart broken. Nothing gave me more joy than to place these two special Pansy kittens in her arms in December. I knew they would be treasured and loved with all Bonnie could give them. Listed below are the pictures, emails or Facebook posts that Bonnie has shared with us since Indy and Sophie left the Cattery. Prior to Indy and Sophie, Bonnie did not have a Facebook page. She set up a Facebook page just for the reason of sharing her babies photos with all of us. Now that is a labor of love. Be sure to check March 4, 2014 "A 'Snip It' from the life of Indy and Sophie" written by Bonnie. It is a precious tribute to her babies.

December 15, 2014, via email: " Indy cried the whole way. He would stop every few minutes and then start up again. Sophie cried a little at first, then slept like a baby. I stopped a total of three times, once to get gas. Each time I petted and soothed Indy and Sophie to reassure them I was there. When we stopped to take a potty and water break, they just sniffed their food and water. They both got in the litter box, but did not do anything. Sophie laid down in it to take a nap and Indy wanted to play. When we got home all they wanted to do was explore. They both drank some water and ate a little of their dry food. They have crashed out under a large bureau in my computer room. I think it's dark and cozy under there. They are snuggling together.I think they love their new home. No crying, just a lot of exploration.I've attached some pictures of them exploring. Thanks for everything!!! I'm so proud of my new babies.I haven't shown them the Christmas tree yet. Just a little of the house at a time. I don't want to overwhelm them. Sophie and Indy send their love to everyone!!! Love to all!!! Bonnie"
December 16, 2014, via email: "Good morning Susan, Indy and Sophie had a good night last night. They went to bed at 11:00 pm and did not wake up until 6:30 am. Indy got up once to pee, then jumped right back into bed. They love the kingsize bed. Plenty of room to stretch out. Lol!!! They were hungry when they woke up. Sophie ate a little dry food, but Indy did not want any. He begged for some wet food. I gave them both 1/2 can on a plate. They both gobbled it right up. Sophie had a good bowel movement this morning after eating. I haven't seen a bowel movement from Indy yet. They've had their faces washed and will be combed out before the Vet visit at 9:00 am.They have been playing hard in the hallway with their twiddlewinks and are beginning to tire out now.
Hope everything is going well at the cattery, especially with Pansy and Penelope. Indy and Sophie send their love to everyone!!! Bonnie"
December 16, 2014,via email: "Good morning Susan, We went to the Vet this morning. Dr. Williams said they were both very cute and checked out great. She said she remembered seeing them in the womb before they were born. She said Pansy was a very nice mom and Victorian Gardens Cattery always produces beautiful kittens. She checked their eyes, ears, and teeth. Indy had a stool sample taken since he hadn't pooped this morning yet. Sophie weighed 3.4 lbs. I didn't realize until we got home but I think they forgot to weigh Indy. They were busy taking a stool sample from him.I'll see them in a couple of weeks and I'll make sure both are weighed. They are playing now and enjoying their new home.Hope all is well at the Cattery. Please hug and kiss Penelope and Pansy for them. They are missed! Love to all the others!!!"
December 16, 2014, via email: "Hello Susan, Indy and Sophie are eating good and each has had a normal bowel movement today. I got lots of sleep last night. They both were purring loud in bed and kneading dough. They were even kneading dough in their Sleepy Pods while waiting for the Vet. I have been playing with them all day, with a teaser wand, crinkle toys, and of course the bow winks. They love their tunnel and play cube also. After play they tucker out and are ready for a nap. They are sleeping now in the bedroom. They are both so loving and let me hug and kiss them. I even saw Sophie licking and grooming Indy's face just like Pansy would do. I thought she is just like her mom. Very sweet!I think I'll rest some too. Christmas music is playing softly in the background and it's sleepy time here. Thanks for these two incredible kittens. What a blessing! God answers prayers!!! Love to you and all your little ones!!!"
December 21, 2014, via email: "Indy and Sophie are doing great! They love to play and play and play with each other. They are little buddies. Each one takes care of the other. They love each other very much. I brush/comb them regularly and when they get sleepy I comb out their bellies and neck. They'll lay upside down in my lap so content and let me brush and brush and gradually fall asleep. Thanks for training them so well. Pumpkin never wanted me to comb her underside. They are both eating well, having good bowel movements, and adjusting well to their new home. I love the litter box and pellets. It never gets tracked through the house. I'll try to get a Christmas picture. Talk to you later. Thanks for everything!!! Bonnie "
December 24, 2014,via email: "Hello Susan, We are enjoying Indy and Sophie's first Christmas! Merry Christmas to everyone!!!!Love, Indy, Sophie and Bonnie"
January 4, 2014, via email: "Hello Susan, Indy and Sophie are adjusting well to their new home. They are growing! They love their Christmas toys and play station. They are so cute. They love each other very much and won't do anything without the other. They eat, play and sleep together. I'm so glad I got two kittens. They really enjoy each other. They are both very loving and sweet. They sleep on my bed with me and early each morning Sophie will come up to me to cuddle and nurse (my arm and hand). She is so sweet and purrs loudly. She still misses her mom. This morning Indy was purring and kneading dough on my back. They are both so sweet !!!
I've attached a few pictures of them on their play station. Indy is on the top level and Sophie is right below him.
Hope you have a wonderful week!!! Love to Pansy, Willie, Penelope and Primrose's babies from Indy and Sophie !!!"
January 5, 2014, via email: "Indy and Sophie has had a good day today. I put the their blankets on the bed last night that Pansy's scent is on. They like to cuddle and pull on them. Lol!!! A “Snip-it” from the life of Indy and Sophie:
March 4, 2015
Today’s temperature reached into the mid 70’s, a beautiful Spring day with a warm breeze from the south. Indy and Sophie enjoyed watching the birds at the patio bird feeder through the sliding screen door. I was working in the flower bed around the patio wearing shades and a baseball cap. Indy and Sophie were not sure it was me. The voice was familiar but the look was different. I stopped several times and came to the screen door to talk to them, hug them and reassure them it was me. Between the birds and my gardening Indy and Sophie were totally absorbed and fascinated by it all.
After 30 minutes or so, I came in the house through the kitchen door. My shades and cap were off and I called Indy and Sophie. They both came running with Sophie in the lead. She literally jumped into my arms so happy to see me. My heart melted. What sweet love!
(The following are just some examples of how sweet and loving my babies are.)
Indy loves to knead dough on his soft blanket which is in his cat bed. He’ll put his front legs and toes in the bed and knead dough while his hind legs are out. His stomach is rested on the edge of the bed. He will be busy running around playing with Sophie and abruptly stop when he notices his cat bed. He’ll stop to knead dough and within a minute or two he’s off running again. So cute!
Sophie’s favorite hide out is the bathroom sink. She likes the coolness of the tile and the serenity of it all. One night I was startled as I turned the bathroom light on. To my surprise she was curled up in the sink peering over the rim with sleepy little eyes. I kissed her goodnight and quietly make it back to my bed.
Sophie is very agile and can squeeze into the tightest places. If it’s at least an inch wide she will walk on it, go across it, or over it. Whether it’s the window sill, a table top, or a bookcase, it doesn’t matter to Sophie. It amazes me how agile and sure-footed she is.
Indy is broad-chested and solid like his father, Willie. He loves to eat, especially the Fancy Feast. Every time I eat something he wants to see what it is and of course, thinks he should be eating some too.
They both like to jump and chase the feather wand. They are both determined and persistant in their pursuit. Sophie likes to hide under a foot stool and wait for it to go bouncing by. Then she springs into action! With all her might she pursues it over the floor, on the couch, on the recliner, wherever that darn thing goes she’s right on it tail. Before long she is basking in victory over her prize catch, like “look what I did!”
Indy catches the wand differently. He stays right on its heels the entire time. He will do back flips, floor tumbles and rolls in hot pursuit. It doesn’t take any time before his claws have stopped it dead in its track. I think he likes to impress Sophie with his flexibility and strength. And of course, she is amazed.
My babies are truly incredible! There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t thank God for these precious gifts. I love them dearly.

March 13, 2014, via Facebook: "Thanks, Susan! She is beginning to lose some of her baby cottony coat and get her adult coat which is silkier. Her coat is longer and lighter than Indy's. ...She's a sweetheart!"
April 3, 2014, via Facebook: "I have been working in the yard today while Indy and Sophie were watching me through the screen door. My neighbor came over to visit with them and plans to have her daughter (coming Sunday) see them too. She thought they were adorable and she also loved their playstation. She said her daughter is going to want one when she sees them. Lol! It's been a busy day today. Right now they are both crashed out on my bed laying on their backs with all four paws in the air. So cute! Hope you have a wonderful Easter! Spring is such a beautiful time of year with everything being resurrected and given new life. It's my favorite season!
Indy and Sophie send their love to you, Pansy, Willie and all the cats at the cattery!!! Before long there will be the pitter patter of little feet. Lol!! It's an exciting time!!!! Love to all!!!Bonnie'
