Chocolate Point Himalayan
Welcome to Petunia's Nursery at Victorian Gardens Cattery. In Petunia's Nursery, we feature all her new Persian litters, including their photos, videos, parents, and pedigrees. You will find all the latest news about her babies and their growth on "Our Cattery Blog". We usually are blogging several times a week during our kitten season.
****

Seal Point Himalayan
Her babies will remain on our Nursery page and then will be made available on the Available Kitten Page. Please enjoy watching the videos and looking at our newborns. Each day the babies change. It could be their color changing, or their size, or their eyes opening. It is always an exciting time at the Cattery when the babies arrive. We have ordered this page with the most recent videos and pictures at the top then going to Day 1 at the bottom. Enjoy Pansy's newborns as much as we do. If you are interested in being on the wait list for one of our litters, please fill out the "Kitten Application" and return to us. More information on our policies are found on the Prices and Policies Page. Serious only inquiries please.

The D'Bird Always Wins At The Cattery
July 13, 2016
https://youtu.be/SCzM_Peb18Y
Watch Petunia's 13 week old kittens playing with the D'Bird toy. It is on a long wand and sounds like a bird fluttering through the air. I haven't found a cat or kitten yet that has not gone crazy over the D'Bird. You should be able to find them at local pet stores. This is this litter's last video with us since some of them leave today for their new homes. This litter is one of the sweetest litters ever. We will miss them at the Cattery. You can see their pictures and learn more about them in Petunia's Nursery 2016. Just click on the link above to be taken to the video on our YouTube Channel.

Diamond and Petunia's Combined Litters Video
May 26, 2016
https://youtu.be/KgHmAS1UyyE
Today we combined Diamond's 9 week old kittens with Petunia's 6 week old kittens. Right off the bat, Petunia's kittens started playing on the larger playstation. They are getting along great. Watch as they run around in their area. We have a fence up since we are still working on litter box training some of them and want to protect our wood flooring. Diamond has a Black Persian and a Black and White Bi-Color Persian. Petunia has a Black Persian, a Chocolate Point Himalayan and two Seal Point Himalayans. Petunia is Diamond's daughter. Just click on the link above to go to our Youtube Channel and the video.

Candid Slide Show of Petunia's 2 1/2 Week Old Kittens
May 2, 2016
We finally we are able to get a new cord for our camera in order to charge it. So this evening, we were able to get some close up candids of Petunia's sweet babies. The Chocolate Point, aka: Little Miracle Jr., loved the camera so that is why he got more pictures. He was very photogenic. You can tell several of them are taking after Petunia's trait of her tongue sticking part way out. Petunia is a Diamond and Willie baby. That litter was known for their kneading dough and sucking on blankets and stuffed toys. I always thought it was because Diamond had not been a good mom to her babies and they had kneaded dough and nursed on blankets as a way of comfort. While I have changed my mind about that. It is a genetic trait for this particular line. I am seeing that sweet kneading dough on blankets and sucking on blankets with some of these babies. Genetics are a powerful thing. It is totally genetics because Petunia is an excellent mom. She is there to comfort them. She is always rubbing on them. I had not actually seen this before till now. She will rub her head all over them if they are crying. I think it is precious. Hope you all enjoy the candids.

14 Days Old

Petunia is an absolutely outstanding mother. I really could not want for more. She is also protective of her babies in a very polite way. She just puts her body between you and her babies. Her babies all hear my voice and start crying and coming to me now. They are beautiful group. Each is beautiful and unique in their own way. Oh how I wish that gorgeous Chocolate Point boy was a girl. I call him Little Miracle Jr. because of his miracle birth. I would keep him in a heart beat if he had been a girl. But unfortunately, he is too related to Miracle to keep him as a breeder. The Seal girl reminds me so much of Sweet Annie. They all are adorable. They have just turned 14 days old. In a weeks time, I will start trying to potty train them.

Seven Days Old
April 21, 2016
Petunia is an awesome mother. All those babies are so fat they look like they are going to pop. She is very protective. The miracle baby has my heart. His name should be Little Miracle Jr. He is gorgeous with no ill effects from his hard birthing. He is an extreme Chocolate Point. I would have kept him in a heartbeat if he was a girl. But no, I saw his sacks and he is a boy. If you have watched the litter on the camera, you will know that they love rolling and laying on their back playing with themselves all before they turned 6 days old. Today is their one week birthday. They already have some of their eyes opening. It is going to be a sweet litter.

Petunia and Miracle's Newborns
April 15, 2016
On April 15th, between 5:20 p.m. and 8:40 p.m., Petunia delivered her first litter. She has 3 Himalayans and 1 Persian. The Persian is a black doll face. The Himalayans will show their colors in the next few weeks but due to their fur color at birth, I am expecting one Extreme Face Chocolate Point and two Doll Face Seal Points. One of the Seals does look to be a male at this point. I am trying not to disturb the litter too much the first few days but will check again in a few days time as to the sex. Petunia is an extremely protective mother. She had a fit when I went to weight them this morning and clean their butts. So that is why I would like to wait a bit. The babies are doing great. The delivery was very hard. The largest Himi and largest baby was the first down the canal. It got stuck in her birth canal. All that I could see was a tail hanging out. The sack had already been broken. This went on for 30 minutes and I knew I would have a dead baby since it had been in the birth canal for so long. Well, I have never had to try to get a baby out by just the tail before. I sure hope I NEVER every have to again. I finally had to just tell myself to pull because it would be dead anyway. One paw was coming in and out. So I took both and held on for dear life as she went through several contractions and I was able to pull. The baby also got stopped midway. Poor Petunia was screaming but we finally got the baby out. After that I decided to rub and rub and rub that baby. And you know what ... it was alive. It was turning purple so I had my magic drops to help with the breathing and I continued to rub and the baby continued to scream. I worked hard on his paws where I had pulled to get the circulation going. He or she is a miracle baby. I am in awe and thank God for allowing him or her to live. I had to watch him closely for the first 12 hours and hand feed him since he was weak. I set my alarm for every 2 hours to get up and check on him. When I got up at 6 a.m. this morning to check, he was nursing on mom. At 10 a.m. this morning, I weighted everyone and everyone had gained and actually had gained quite a bit. I was ecstatic. I am especially drawn to this little fighter. He or she definitely knows how to use their lungs. Actually the whole litter does. Petunia has been cleaning them though I don't think at this point, she is cleaning their butts. She definitely gets upset when I do it. The web camera has been on since Petunia was put in the Nursery with her babies last night. It helps me to view her and her babies without disturbing them. It also allows my Priority Wait List and Adoptive Families to view these babies.
