PERSIAN AND HIMALAYAN
SIRES

Welcome to the Persian and Himalayan Sires of Victorian Gardens Cattery page where we highlight our Champion Sires.  All our sires are FELV and Feline Aids tested negative.  Either their parents or themselves have tested negative for PKD. The sires also have a DNA test called a SNP Array Genetic Evaluation performed on them prior to breeding them. The SNP DNA Evaluation tests their DNA for numerous diseases as well as if they are carriers for certain coat colors.  The Test is preformed by Texas A&M University Animal Genetics Laboratory. As of February 1, 2012, our new policy is to have all our current and new foundation sires cardiac ultrasounded for HCM at "The Sound Cat" in Wilmington, North Carolina when they reach their two year birthday and every two to three years thereafter. This HCM screening is a very positive and forward thinking move on the part of our Cattery.

Our newest Grand Champion bloodlines (within two to five generation pedigree) include the following Catteries: My Ty, Polcann, and Homerkits.

Our newest Champion bloodlines (within five generation pedigree) come from some of the following Catteries:  Catillak, Riell, Aristochet, Uno Belgatto, My Ty, Crayola Cats, Foxy, Fur, Lotapurrs, Policann, Tittusville, La Chatrue,  Maurarista, Purdy, Cactusways.

We received CH Willie Wonka, a Champion Chocolate Point Himalayan, from a Cattery in California on February 12, 2012.  Willie is our first outcrossing to our Cattery lines. Willie, besides being a Champion, also has a great number of Grand Champions and Champions in his pedigree (within the first three generations) from these well known catteries: Uno Belgatto, My Ty, Crayola Cats and Lotapurrs. We counted nine Grand Champions or Champions in the first three generations.  He has even sired Champions himself.

Willie produces babies that are self confident, self assured, people oriented.  His babies are known to follow you around from room to room. They just want to be with you, whether it is at your feet, on your lap or somewhere in the room you are in.

Willie has an extreme face but with a very small nose bridge and larger nostrils so he does not have the normal extreme face Persian/Himalayan breathing or nasal problems that most extreme faces have.  His eyes go from a light blue to medium blue depending on the lighting and the time of day.

Willie's DNA tests results are on the link above. He has been verified as a visual chocolate, not carrying dilute. He has already tested negative by our Vet for FELV, Feline Aids, Ringworm and Heartworms.  He comes from PKD negative parents.  On February 28, 2012 he was found negative for HCM on his cardiac ultrasound at The Sound Cat.   He was over 2 years old when he had his first heart scan.  We do expect chocolate babies when Willie is paired with our chocolate carrier girls.

CH Lord Camelot the First - Black Persian
CH Lord Camelot the First is a CFA registered Champion Black Persian.   He has an extreme face and copper eyes. He has a line of champions in his pedigree. Camelot resides with his brother, Lord Chesterfield the First (Chester), in Tarboro, North Carolina. He was born on April 4, 2009. Camelot loves to play and is especially affectionate and loving. He is not even afraid of the dreaded vacuum cleaner, but instead chases it. He is a very laid back cat.

On March 20, 2010, Camelot was shown in the Open Championship Competition at the CFA Show in Raleigh, North Carolina were he won his sixth and last winners ribbon.  He is now a registered Champion with CFA and can go on for points towards Grand Championship.  Congratulations Champion Lord Camelot the First.

Camelot was shown in the Open Championship Competition at the February 6, 2010 Cat Show in Newport News, Virginia.  He won five winners ribbons from the five judges at the show. There was only five judges at this show.  If there had been a sixth judge, he would have won his sixth winners ribbon. You may view pictures of the judging of Camelot in the Show Photo Gallery.
